Which eyeTV device should I buy if I live in the UK?

There are a range of eyeTV devices available and it an get a little confusing over which device you should buy.

It depends on what you want to watch and record. This guide is for the UK only, please refer to the elgato website for products relating to other countries.

I want to watch and record BBC1, BBC2, ITV and Channel 4.

Eye TV USB or EyeTV Wonder USB 2.0 or eyeTV 200

I want to watch and record Freeview and I already have a Freeview box.

Eye TV USB or EyeTV Wonder USB 2.0 or eyeTV 200

I want to watch and record Freeview, but not interested in TopUpTV.

If you don't have a Freeview box, EyeTV 400.

I want to watch and record Freeview and TopUpTV.

If you don't have a Freeview box, EyeTV 410.

I have digital satellite (Sky) and I want to watch and record Sky.

If you have a Sky Box then Eye TV USB or EyeTV Wonder USB 2.0 or eyeTV 200 (Sky cards only work in a Sky Box so you can't use the eyeTV 300)

I have digital satellite (Sky) and I want to watch and record Sky and Pay per View

If you have a Sky Box then Eye TV USB or EyeTV Wonder USB 2.0 or eyeTV 200 (Sky cards only work in a Sky Box so you can't use the eyeTV 310)

I have Cable Television.

If you have a Cable Box then Eye TV USB or EyeTV Wonder USB 2.0 or eyeTV 200 or possibly the eyeTV 610

I want to use a Console (like an XBox or Playstation).

The only real option is the EyeTV Wonder USB 2.0 as the other eyeTV devices have encoding lags.

I want to watch and record VHS Video.

You will need to have Eye TV USB or EyeTV Wonder USB 2.0 or eyeTV 200.

I have a laptop.

The eyeTV devices will work with a laptop but are not very portable, but the EasyWatch or EyeTV Wonder USB 2.0 are more suitable.

I have Windows.

The EyeTV hardware and software solution is Macintosh only. Elgato have no plans at this time to release a Windows version. However, shows that are exported as QuickTime movies, DVDs and Video CDs are playable on Windows.
