How do I switch on Home Sharing on my iPad?

One of the nice new features of iOS 4.3 is the ability to access your iTunes library from your iPad (or other iOS device) and stream content from that library to watch and listen on your iPad.

So how do you turn this on?

Well first in iTunes ensure that Home Sharing is turned on.

Advanced -> Turn On Home Sharing

You will need an Apple ID, however on the assumption that you use iTunes to purchase content, you will have this already.

On your iPad in Settings, click iPod and then enter your Home Sharing Apple ID.

This will then allow your iPad to access your iTunes Library. If you have multiple iTunes Libraries that are been shared then you will see them all in this screen.

On your iPad in Settings, click iPod and then enter your Home Sharing Apple ID.

In the movies section on the iPad, you will see a new shared tab.

On your iPad in Settings, click iPod and then enter your Home Sharing Apple ID.

Once selected you will then be able to see all the content from your iTunes Library.

On your iPad in Settings, click iPod and then enter your Home Sharing Apple ID.

So entire TV series that normally may take up too much space on your 16GB iPad are now easily accessible wherever you are on your wireless network.

You can also stop sharing, by turning off Home Sharing in iTunes (and remove your Apple ID from the Home Sharing fields on the iPad.
