The iFelix unofficial 802.11n Airport Extreme Hard Drive Compatibility List
Airport is the name for Apple's wireless hardware. Airport is 802.11b which was replaced by Airport Extreme which is 802.11g. Apple have just released a new 802.11n Airport Extreme Base Station This list refers to the new base station, if you are looking for printers which are compatible with the old base station please check this page. Unlike previous base stations the new Airport Extreme Base Station can have a USB 2 Hard Drive connected to the USB port. This is an unofficial list of USB Hard Drives which are are compatible with the new 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station. Drives in dark red are in fact the only drives I have personally tested. Please also note that due to changes in firmware and software upgrades some drives which are in this list may no longer in fact be compatible.
Airport Extreme and Express Hard Drives Incompatibility ListThese printers are deemed to not work out of the box (or if at all) with an Airport Extreme in the same way as the drives listed above. Where the driver is linked then there is page with further information which may be of use.
If your hard drive is not listed in either list then it has not been tested by anyone to see if it will work or will not work, this does not mean it isn't compatible just means we don't know. If you can please test it and add a comment to the comments link. |
