Airport Extreme Base Station
Apple have released a new Airport Extreme Base Station (AEBS)
The major differences and improvements are:
- Support for 802.11a and 802.11n as well as 802.11b and 802.11g
- Three LAN ports over the original's single LAN port (newest version has Gigabit ports)
- Abilty to connect a USB 2 hard drive to the USB port.
- Ability to connect multiple hard drives and printers to the USB port
With the release of the Gigabit model I went ahead and purchased the new Airport Extreme, I have found it a vast improvement on the ailing Aiport Express I was using.
Guides and comment
Most of the 802.11g guides as they stand will still work for the new 802.11n AEBS.
